Love Beyond 2021
Bula church family, an update from Fiji
The village of Namalavau is so blessed as we have supported 25 families with boxes of love.
These food packages are full of essentials that will support the families for over a month.
We have also contributed towards some essential maintenance that wasn’t able to be done due to financial constraints.
Our heart is to send more funds to the village before Christmas to support families over this wonderful time of year.
Thank you for having such big hearts to love beyond.

The Love Wynyard Emergency Relief Fund provides financial and practical assistance for members of our local community who are experiencing hardship.
Regularly we provide assistance in the form of food hampers, frozen meals & food vouchers, fuel vouchers, practical assistance within homes and properties, sourcing furniture & white goods, and even assistance with transport. We also assist in connecting people to other resources and services within our community and offer financial training support through CAP Money.
This fund helps us to really love our neighbours, those living with us in our very own community

Members of the Operation Christmas Child team at C3 Wynyard are incredibly grateful to our church family for the ongoing, generous support of this life-changing ministry. We want every child to know there is a God who loves them.
Team members Wendy Weeks, Sue Ransley, Marie Brown, Josie Reeve, Heather Atkinson and Allison Wilson work year-round buying and making beautiful gifts to fill boxes. In doing this, we are sharing God’s love in a tangible, practical way to some of the world’s most disadvantaged children. Box packing is also ongoing throughout the year.
We have been blessed and encouraged by the generosity of people who contribute with gifts, financial and prayer support. Funds given through the annual missions offering are used to pay the $10 a box that needs to be provided when the gifts are sent. This money goes towards shipping costs, but more importantly, is used to produce materials so children can be part of The Greatest Journey 12-week discipleship course if they choose to participate.
This course is a key part of OCC’s ministry and each year millions of children come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Pastors around the world host outreach events in places where people may not know Christ and invite them to follow Him. Other churches use the boxes as resources for outreach in orphanages and other at-risk areas.
As a result of The Greatest Journey, families are reached, churches grow, new churches are started and communities are transformed. More than 23.3 million children have enrolled in this program since 2009.
Last year, just over 450 gift-filled shoe boxes were sent from C3 Wynyard. Of those boxes, the church family paid for around 170 of them to be sent ($1700). This year, with times particularly tough for impoverished communities, we would love to see the number increase.
Last year, Tasmania’s boxes were sent to Madagascar in Africa. While many of us think of Madagascar as a holiday destination or the title of Disney movies, sadly the reality is very different. The country is among the poorest in the world. It is experiencing the worst drought in 40 years, sandstorms, pest and disease have destroyed crops and livestock. This, combined with the impact of COVID-19, has created a deadly crisis. More than 1.5 million people are hungry, In some districts, three out of four families are starving.
The gift of a shoebox full of gifts from Tasmanian families, including our beautiful church family, last year brought God’s love and hope to people in crisis. It is yet to be announced where Tasmania’s gifts will go to this year.
This month, we encourage you to give generously to our missions offering, a portion of this offering will go towards sending love in a box to children in desperate need.
We have the power to change lives and bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth, one gift box at a time.
