ABOUT TABLE TALK
A Message from Ps Geoff
Nearing the end of 2021, I was meditating on some thoughts around the Lords table or Communion as we tend to call it. I was reflecting on how the early church celebrated communion generally around a meal together. It stated me thinking about the talk that would occur around the table and the Holy Spirit revealed the idea of Table Talk to me.
What would it look like if we gathered around tables for meals or super or just a cup of tea or coffee and shared communion as the center piece of our fellowship and talked together about what God is doing amongst us?
A gathering with purpose, promise and presence as we keep communion central and sacred at the beginning of a new year together.
As confirmation to my thinking, Pastor Simon McIntyre released a brilliant blog called the Table in which he looked at and made comments about communion and its place in the early church and what it could be for the church of today;

“Some theologians believe that the Lord’s Supper is the meeting that gives the Church her true gathered identity;
it was what marked God’s people out.
It wasn’t something added, or occasionally celebrated; it was the heart and soul of the gathering rationale of God’s church. The church pivoted around the Lord’s Supper, focusing on the redemptive story of Jesus that is best understood in the bread and wine, and usually embedded in meal and table. Table and the Lord’s Supper lived off/around each other, whereas we have separated them, and maybe, in so doing, have robbed the church of a spiritual and life-giving dynamic only available in a meal that incorporates the bread and wine.
It is usually the people that eat together that last the longest."

As we begin 2022, we feel that gathering around the table together is key to the new thing Jesus is desiring to reveal to us. Gathering with purpose, promise & presence as we celebrate life together.
Due to the time we live in we feel gathering at church instead of homes for the first few months is the safest and wisest way to begin our year together. Commencing in late February Table Talk will launch as our Life Groups for the first quarter of the year.
Everyone is welcome and we encourage you to sign up and be a part of this fresh direction. We will gather in small groups and share communion with light refreshments as we share purposeful and practical life together.
Come and join us for Table Talk and be expectant for great and mighty things Jesus is desiring to reveal!
Love and Blessings,
Ps Geoff & Fiona
